How to Market your Business Effectively

Every businesses has their own style of marketing. If you are not doing this, how can your business survive? You may have used online or offline marketing. Listed below are some of the marketing strategies you can use for the exposure of your business and to gain more clients.                                                                  

ONLINE MARKETING
Posting online ads - This is one of the cheapest way of promoting your business online.  There are lots of websites that offer free ad posting.  The only thing you need to remember is to have a good campaign ad and a website for your business, for people to look at your opportunity.  You should also have an eye-catching domain name.  You can get cheap domain  names from Godaddy .  They also offer discounts, bulk domains and web hosting.

Blog or blog links - If  you are a good writer, you can do blogs to promote your business or you can participate in  blog discussions and post your website when you reply.  Most of the blogs right now has a special space where you can post your links.

Social networks - Facebook is a good way of attracting leads or clients to your business right now,  but you should know how to do it correctly.  Twitter is 2nd and Myspace is not so popular right now for the promotion of your business.  Most singers or bands are using Myspace to promote their albums.  Youtube is number 3 in Alexa www.alexa.com ranking.  So if you are not a camera shy person like me, you can shoot short videos promoting your business.  A good length is a 2 to 4 minute video.

Link exchange - Some websites offer link exchange options.  This is profitable for both parties.  Or you can allocate a space on your site for ad campaign and earn a small amount from there.

Traffic generator - One way of generating visitors or traffic to your site is through traffic exchange.  Most of the PTC (paid to click) sites do this.  Some examples are Trafficswarm , Clixsense , Viralhost and Trek Advertising .  You can also advertise your site using the credits you have.  Trafficswarm does the same.  If you are a free member in viralhost, you will be receiving tons of emails from other viralhost member, and if you don't want that, you can upgrade your account.  The downfall of this is that you have to view ads to get credits in exchange for your site promotion, or you can directly upgrade and buy credits for your ad campaign.

Email marketing - This uses an auto-responder and a form placed on your blog or website.  Your subscribers opt-in to your site or your blog and you can promote your opportunity using auto-responder.  Be sure that you only send email to persons who ask for information or have subscribed to your site, otherwise they will put you as a spam ( which I do to most of the people sending unsolicited email).  The two most popular auto-responders are Aweber and Trafficwave .  You can design web forms from them and paste the html or java code on your site.

Forum site - there are forum sites that have a business opportunity thread for entrepreneurs, like in Negosyanteng Pinoy

Pay per click - This is the most expensive way of marketing (for me).  You can use google adwords or yahoo pay per click.

OFFLINE MARKETING
Print ads - This include newspaper and magazine advertising.  Contact your favorite newspaper or magazine for ad rates and circulation dates.

Flyers - I suggest that you go to places where it is populated (university belts, shopping malls, bus terminals, car park, train station)

Business/Drop cards - If you are doing warm marketing you can use this one.  Have your business cards printed with your website or contact info. You can order from Vistaprint  .  Normally I don't have my contact info in a business card, I only have my website and my ad campaign on it.  I don't want prank callers to be calling in the middle of the night.  There are shops who have bulletin boards to post ad and you can put biz card there.

Poster/bandit signs - Those are the signs you see on the road.  Be careful where you place them.  If you have website for your business and you want to put it in the bandit sign, make sure the domain name is too short and easy to remember.  You can also order posters from Vistaprint

Auto-responder: A Must in your Business

Every business needs their own mailing list for their clients. May it be a small business, online or offline. Imagine if you have a thousand clients and you have a promo going on in your business.
